Film Review: Like Stars on Earth

Watch trailer here.

Movie Info:

A young boy prone to colorful flights of fancy finds his hyperactive imagination may serve a greater purpose after being sent away to boarding school by his frustrated parents.

A very good movie, indeed. Though some parts are boring due to very long time dedicated to singing, dancing, and the likes, the movie as a whole is great.
It managed to touch the hearts of many people. I know, because I'm not the only one who cried while watching this. Almost all of the people who are with me cried. But it's not that heavy too, for most parts are funny.
It's a mind-opening movie about how each one of us, even those who are not 'normal' have talents, and how most of them managed to change the world.
Again, it's a very nice movie that I will definitely recommend to everyone.
Kudos to the makers of this one.

Four Stars!

My Review:

The beginning of the film confused me at first for I don’t know the time when the story happened. But as the story goes, it became clearer and clearer for me.
The middle part of the story is not as exciting as I would want it to be, though it still manages to hold my attention. Whenever I’m starting to get bored, something will happen that will make me interested again.
The last 20 mins (I think) of the film is the best part for it was filled with action. Something happened during the last few minutes that should be the biggest revelation in the movie, but I was expecting it so it didn't impress me. And I was a bit disappointed on the last scene. I don’t know. I think I was expecting to see more than what it showed me.
Oh, and I was kinda hoping to see more mutants so their absence made me feel more disappointed in the film than I should be.
But, overall, I like the film. Despite all the things I just said, I enjoyed it, especially the visual effects — which are very realistic — and the stunts (and of course, the sight of Hugh Jackman shirtless most of the time).
Three stars. :D
